Monument Street House

This new Federal Style home with Jeffersonian details was built for a family of seven and 3 dogs. In spite of the perfectly ordered facade with columned entry porch and chinoiserie rails, and the traditional interior detailing, the home feels decidedly unstuffy and open. Wide openings between rooms and an abundance of windows overlooking the surrounding conservation land help keep the home light and fresh. The use of quality materials and expert craftsmanship is evident throughout the house, from the flat seamed copper porch roofs to the solid beech and cherry parquet entry floor - a reproduction the Parlor floor at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. (See Monument Street Barn for outbuilding at this property).
