From new custom homes and historic renovations to smaller scale additions, we work closely with clients offering creative solutions and a discerning eye for detail.

Each project begins with a discussion of a client’s vision and lifestyle. A desire for a large furniture grouping around a fireplace or a glimpse of a favorite garden path inform the design and aesthetic  of each space. The easy flow from one space to another is a hallmark of our designs.

We carefully study the quality of natural light and views of the surrounding landscape to bring the outside in. A breakfast nook with three walls of oversized window is our favorite type of room.

We create spaces that convey a restful calm, with clean detailing and well balanced proportions throughout.

Jennifer Hart AIA, principal of Hart Associates Architects, has recently relocated from the Boston area to Portland, Maine where she is exploring the historic architectural gems in her new West End neighborhood.

Jennifer holds a BS in Architecture from The University of Virginia an a MArch from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
